Arisi Payaru Sundal

1&1/2 cups – raw rice
1/2 cup – green gram dhal (whole)
5 – red chillies
Asafoetida, a pinch
1/2 cup – grated coconut
Curry leaves, a few
4 tsp – Oil
1 tsp – mustard
Salt to taste
Directions
Dry fry the rice and green gram dhal separately in a kadai, until they turn light brown in colour.
In a pressure cooker, add the fried rice and dhal and four cups of water along with salt.
Pressure cook for up to 3 whistles.
In a kadai heat oil.
Add mustard seeds and allow to splutter, add asafoetida along with red chillies, and curry leaves.
Add cooked rice and dhal mix, into the kadai and then add grated coconut and fry for a few minutes.
