Beetroot poriyal

2 large beetroots
2 tbsp – moong dal
Salt & water, as needed
1 tsp – sambhar powder or red chilli powder
To grind:
3 tbsp – grated coconut
2 – small onions
1/2 tsp – jeera
To temper :
1 tbsp – oil
1/2 tsp – mustard seeds
1/2 tsp – urad dal
1 – big onion (finely chopped)
Curry leaves, a few
Directions
Chop the beetroot into small pieces and pressure cook along with moong dal, sambhar powder, salt & water.
Grind the coconut, onions and jerra into a smooth paste adding a little water.
Now temper the items mentioned above and add the cooked beetroot mixture.
Then add the ground coconut paste and sauté well
