Brinjal with tender tamarind leaves

300g – tender brinjal (vankaya)
120g – tender tamarind leaves
Salt
2 tbsp – oil
2 – onions, medium, cut into small pieces
3 – green chillies, cut into small pieces
1 tsp – red chilli powder
a pinch of turmeric powder
Directions
Cut brinjal into 1 inch cubes and keep them in salted water.
In a pan heat oil, add the green chillies, garlic and onions, fry until soft.
Drain the brinjal pieces and add to the pan along with, turmeric, red chilli powder and salt.
Fry for 2 minutes, sprinkle some water, cook covered for 3 to 4 minutes or until the brinjal becomes tender.
Add coarse paste of tender tamarind leaves and a little water.
Mix well and cook covered till raw smell of tamarind goes and both brinjal and paste blend well.
