4 cup cooked rice
4 tbsp sesame or vegetable oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp fenugreek
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 tsp white sesame seeds
2 tsp black gram (urad) dal
4 dry red chillies broken into pieces
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp asafetida
2 tsp tamarind pulp
1cup grated coconut
salt to taste
Directions
In an kadia heat oil in.
Add sesame seeds.
Once they splutter, add fenugreek and cumin.
After few seconds, add sesame seeds and black gram dal.
When these turn golden brown, add chillies, turmeric powder and asafetida.
Add tamarind pulp and 1/2 cup of water.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Add rice and salt.
Mix well and keep covered on low heat for 5 minutes.
Sprinkle in grated coconut
