Drumsticks in tangy tamarind rasam

100g – boiled drumstick pieces with salt (2 sticks approx)
1&1/2 tsp – oil/ghee
500ml – tamarind water (made with 2 tsp tamarind paste)
1 – small onion, chopped fine
1 tsp – any rasam powder
3 – red chilli, (broken into bits)
1 to 2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed garlic
1 sprig – curry leaves
1 tsp – chopped coriander
1/2 tsp – mustard seeds
Cumin, a pinch
Asafoetida – a pinch
Turmeric powder, a pinch
1 tsp – jaggery, powdered
Directions
In a pan on a medium heat, heat the ghee/oil and add mustard seeds, asafoetida, garlic, red chilli, cumin and curry leaves.
Stir well and fry until the mustard seeds splutter.
Add chopped onion and turmeric powder and fry till they become soft.
Add boiled drumsticks and tamarind water, salt, rasam powder and jaggery and boil for 2 minutes.
Sprinkle chopped coriander and remove from the heat.
