Garlic Rasam

Tamarind, a small ball
6 pods – garlic
1 tsp – cumin
1/2 tsp – black pepper
1 – tomato
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves
Curry leaves
1/2 tsp – turmeric powder
250 ml – water
1 tsp – oil
1/2 tsp – mustard
2 – red chillies
Directions
In a mixer grind the black pepper, cumin, garlic, tomato and turmeric powder. Place to one side.
In a pan add the water and tamarind bring to the boil for a few minutes and then add the mixture you put to one side.
Add salt, coriander and curry leaves.
Heat the oil add the mustard seeds and red chillies
