1 tbsp – mustard seeds
2 tsp – cumin
1 tbsp – urad dal, split and husk removed
8 – red chillies
22 – curry leaves
1/2 tsp asafoetida (optional)
Directions
Ina pan heat oil on a medium heat, one by one add all the ingredients, fry until the mustard seed splutter and the dal has turns a light brown.
Once it has cooled transfer it to a air tight container.
