5-6 medium size potatoes, boiled
A pinch of turmeric powder
Green chillies finely chopped
Coriander leaves finely chopped
A pinch of chaat masala
Salt to taste
Seasoning:
1 tsp oil
Mustard seeds
Urad dal
For the bonda batter:
One and half cups of Gram flour
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 pinch sodium bicarbonate
One cup water
Salt to taste
Directions
Mix all the ingredients of the bonda batter along with water to make a fine paste.
Mash the boiled potatoes with turmeric powder, salt, green chillies, coriander leaves and chaat masala.
Heat a little oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds.
Once it splutters, add the rest of the seasoning. Once it turns brown, add the potato masala and fry for a few minutes.
Take out the masala and keep aside. After it cools, shape it into small balls and keep aside.
Heat oil for deep frying.
Dip the potato masala into the bonda batter and deep fry in the oil for a few minutes.
Once it is fried, take it out of the oil.
Drain the excess oil by blotting it with a tissue paper.
