Quick mango dal

Ingredients : 1 – medium-sized raw mango, grated fine (need not peel)
250g – tur dal
1 tsp – red chilli powder
1/4 tsp – cumin
2 – red chilli
Salt
Asafoetida, a pinch
1/8 tsp – turmeric powder
1 tbsp – oil
10 – curry patta leaves
1 tsp – chopped coriander
1 – small onion, chopped fine
1/2 tsp – mustard seeds
Directions
In a pressure cook, cook the tur dal up to 3 whistles. Mash and place to one side.
In a pan on a medium heat, heat the oil, add the asafoetida, cumin and curry leaves. Fry until the seeds crackle.
Add turmeric powder, onions, mix well and fry until onion turns soft.
Once the onions are soft add grated mango, red chilli powder and salt. Lower the flame and cook for 3 minutes.
Stir once in between.
Mixing well add the mashed dal and simmer for a few minutes, add the chopped coriander.
