Sakkarai Pongal

1 cup – rice
1/2 cup – moong dal (yellow)
1/2 cup – jaggery
1/4 cup – ghee
1/4 cup – milk
1 pinch – cardamom
roasted cashew nuts, a few
Directions
Clean rice and yellow moong dal and keep to one side.
Add 2 cups of water for rice & 1/2 cup of water for yellow moong dal and cook these two separately in 2 vessels in a pressure cooker up to 3 whistles.
In a pan, add jaggery and some water & cook it until the jaggery melts.
Boil milk & keep aside to cool.
In the jaggery pan, add cooked rice & yellow moong dal.
Reduce heat, mix ghee and stir
Now add cardamom & roasted cashew nuts to it.
Add milk a for rich taste.
