Semiya pongal

2 cups vermicelli
1 cup green gram dal
3 cups sugar (reduce if you like it to be less sweet)
2/3 cup ghee
5 cardamom
Few cashews and raisins
Directions
In a little ghee fry cashew nuts and raisins, remove and keep to one side
In same pan fry vermicelli and to one side.
Fry green gram dal in a little ghee, add sufficient water, cook and keep aside.
Boil 4 cups of water, add semiya and cook.
Add sugar, cooked green gram dal, remaining ghee and cook for 5 minutes on medium heat.
Remove from heat and add fried cashews, raisins and crushed cardamom.
