1 tbsp – chopped ginger
2 cups – black split urad dal
1 cup – chopped methi leaves
1 tsp – jeera
1 tsp – red chilli powder
Salt to taste
1 tbsp – pure ghee
Wash the dal and soak for 15 min.
On stove on a medium heat place a pressure cooker and add ghee, then hing and jeera, stir well.
Add ginger and all the spices, dal and methi and mix well.
Add 6 cups of water and cook covered.
After the first whistle, reduce to low heat and cook for a further 20 minutes.
